Flagstaff Regional Plan 2030
The Flagstaff Regional Plan 2030 was adopted by the City Council and then ratified by the voters of Flagstaff in May, 2014. The Comprehensive Planning Program is responsible for the maintenance of the Regional Plan and reports annually on its implementation. Please visit our Flagstaff Regional Plan 2030 page for all the details.
The Plan is a living document and is regularly amended by the City and development applications. To learn more about, the evolution of the plan, visit our Regional Plan Amendment page.
Planning Better Neighborhoods and Places
The way each person feels about the places where they live and work can affect overall health and well-being. Safe, attractive, and welcoming neighborhoods and gathering places make life better for everyone living in or near them, and a network of great corridors and neighborhoods makes our entire city a better place to be.
Exceptional cities, and the great neighborhoods within them, don’t just happen. Cities constantly grow and change, and we can ensure that these changes are positive through the plans we make today.
The Flagstaff Regional Plan provides guidance for preservation and growth in the coming years, and Specific Plans offer guidance on a more focused level by providing a means to:
- Identify, preserve, and build on the positive qualities of different places;
- Acknowledge and identify solutions for existing problems; and
- Set goals and priorities that will shape the future of the area in the years to come.
Please visit Active Projects to learn about current opportunities to participate and the Completed Area Plans page to view our completed projects.
Regional Transportation Plan
The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is produced by the Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization (FMPO) and its member agencies: The City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, and the Arizona Department of Transportation. The RTP prioritizes how tax dollars should be spent on highway, street, bicycle, pedestrian and transit projects. It also helps shape those projects to best fit the neighborhoods they serve.
An update of the FTP is currently underway. If you have questions or need further information visit the FMPO website or contact:
